Key Areas of responsibilities:
• Light sequences as assigned by the Supervisor
• File management, organize work/files efficiently
• Remain current and up-to-date in lighting techniques
• Meet assigned weekly lighting quotas
• Create and submit render layers to the render farm.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve render & compositing related issues.
• Create the final image by combining layers of previously created material
• Collaborate with another compositors/render artist/FX artist/lighter
Required Experience/Professional Skills:
• Good understanding of color theory
• Experienced with 3D software (Maya, Nuke, V-ray)
• Knowledge of physics of light a definite asset
• 2D background is preferred but not essential
• Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation is a plus but not mandatory
• Capable and confident in Nuke / node base compositing software, with a strong grasp of 2D compositing techniques.
• Good understanding of 3D compositing and multi-pass compositing is a plus.
• Good photographic understanding of light, depth of field, and motion blur.
• Should be comfortable handling basic/simple paint fixes, & rotoscoping.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to thrive in a high pressure, deadline-oriented team environment
• Ability to follow directions
• Skilled at improvising and problem-solving
• Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas
