Special Delivery: Luna’s World Packages Lands on the PBS KIDS Website & Games App

By February 25, 2022News

It’s time for a special delivery from Let’s Go Luna!

Get ready to build robot kits from Japan, cook up traditional pasta from Italy, and master musical instruments from different corners of the globe, plus so much more in the new Luna’s World Packages game! Available to play on the PBS KIDS website and in the PBK KIDS games app, Luna’s World Packages allows kids to interact with and learn about foods, music, art and culture from all around the world as they receive various care packages from Andy, Leo and Carmen!

Just like on the show, the game is inspired by the many places that the Circo Fabuloso visits around the world. Every time the performance troupe arrives at a new destination, players will receive a special package delivered by Luna, filled with location-specific activities informed by the stories and curriculum from the series. The game captures the excitement of following friends who are traveling abroad, with meaningful learning moments through surprise packages, that introduce travel tokens, and ways to celebrate places & cultures in meaningful ways when you cannot physically go there.

Players can play as themselves and enjoy mini activities that are revealed when they open a package from the mail. And to capture the fun of unwrapping a surprise package, players get to digitally open all the parcels they receive. Each mini activity relates to a country or place and is meant to engage the player in an aspect of that place’s culture. And once a child has completed a kit, it is stored in a collections room where they can revisit this activity whenever they like.

Along with having serious fun while playing Luna’s World Packages, kids will also benefit from the game’s main learning objectives – encouraging kids to explore and appreciate cultures worldwide and helping to build global citizenship and social skills. This is achieved through the game’s many activities and puzzles, for example, using recipe-based mini-games kids will learn about different foods and how they’re used in cooking, they will also get to experiment with a variety of art mediums from different countries using creative play, and the list goes on. Currently, there are over 19 different mini-activities to explore!

Luna’s World Packages was created by our 9 Story Interactive team in partnership with PBS KIDS and Relish Interactive. The new game is based on the animated social-studies series Let’s Go Luna, created by Emmy Award-winning animator, writer and artist Joe Murray (Rocko’s Modern LifeCamp Lazlo). The show follows the adventures of three friends – Leo, a wombat from Australia; Carmen, a butterfly from Mexico; and Andy, a frog from the U.S. – as they traverse the globe with their parents’ traveling performance troupe, “Circo Fabuloso.” At each of the Circo’s stops, Luna the Moon, voiced by Judy Greer, guides the trio as they get to know the local region and its people. The gang’s adventures take them through cities around the globe – from London to Cairo to Beijing – where they explore the food, music, art, architecture and other features that make each place distinctive.

Play the new Luna’s World Packages game on the PBS KIDS website and in the PBS KIDS game app.
