MIPJunior and MIPCOM are just around the corner. MIPJunior, the World’s Leading Kids Entertainment industry event kicks off this Saturday, October 12, in Cannes, France. Every fall the most influential professionals of kids TV converge at this world class market for two targeted days of networking, conferences, and content discovery. And directly on the heels of the Kids Entertainment event is MIPCOM, the world’s largest entertainment content market, which runs from October 14-17.
Our 9 Story Distribution team will be in attendance at both markets, presenting a fresh new spin on Scholastic’s iconic book property, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and showcasing Book Hungry Bears, an uplifting preschool series about a group of teddy bear friends immersed in books and storytelling. We will also be shining a spotlight on our new series Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum, an adventure-comedy based on Brad Meltzer and Chris Eliopoulous’ best-selling kids book series, Ordinary People Change the World.
And not to be missed is The Creators’ Superpanel, featuring our very own director and series creator of Sadie Sparks – Bronagh O’Hanlon.
“This panel celebrates the gifted individuals driving modern excellence in children’s television. Participants in The Creators’ Superpanel will engage in a lively discussion about the creative process, financing challenges, working with linear and OTT broadcast partners, and keeping up with fast-changing media habits. The panel will be moderated by Anna Cagurati, Group Editorial Director, World Screen and will feature Iginio Straffi (Winx Club) Bronagh O’Hanlon (Sadie Sparks), Marc Du Pontavice (Oggy and the Cockroaches), Rajiv Chilaka (Mighty Little Bheem).”
Bronagh will also be honoured with a Kids Trendsetter Award at the end of the session.
The Creators’ Superpanel is on Saturday, 12 October, from 10:10 am – 10:50 am at the JW Marriott, Grand Theatre.
Finally, 9 Story is also a proud sponsor of the second annual Kids Benefit at MIPCOM. This year, the event is raising funds in support of two charities, The Aplastic Anaemia Trust and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for individual donations. Sponsors will also be supporting the global initiative Hope Works. The benefit will be hosted by Adina Pitt and Agnes Augustin, and takes place at C21 on Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Cannes, France at the Grand Hotel.
