MIPCOM has come to a close and boy what a week it was! The 9 Story team returned home, a little tired, but incredibly delighted with the immense success of this year’s market.
So let’s recap with a glimpse into what MIPCOM 2018 looked like for us:
NEW BOOTH
The hard work and preparation paid off and the new booth looked great! The larger location offered the perfect home for our growing team, gave us the ability to host clients in style, and showcased our programs beautifully.
AWARD WINS & SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
Angela Santomero, COO, was a recipient of this year’s Kids Trendsetter Award, in recognition for all her work and contributions to the children’s content industry. Angela accepted the award, along with fellow winners Jonathan Shiff, Tom McGillis and Ben Bocquelet, during the Creators Superpanel where she also participated as a panel member.
Later that same day, Angela appeared in her second engagement as a speaker on Navigating the OTT Landscape, an intriguing discussion around the popular topic of working with on-demand platforms, where she also had a chance to share the trailer for Angela’s Christmas, an example of our Dublin studio’s work, scheduled to launch globally on Netflix November 1.
Last but not least, Federico Vargas, who deserves congratulations for his recent promotion to VP, Distribution (Asia Pacific, Latin America and Iberia markets) spoke about what he does best on the International Success Stories Panel.
PREMIERE SCREENING
We were also delighted to present a premiere screening of “Moon and Me”, the brand-new series by “Teletubbies” co-creator and “In The Night Garden” creator Andrew Davenport.
Last week Sutikki, the kids and family division of Bento Box Entertainment, announced a worldwide distribution agreement (excluding the US, UK and China) with 9 Story Distribution International. They also appointed 9 Story Brands as its global merchandising and licensing agent (excluding the UK and China). Together Sutikki and 9 Story introduced Moon and Me to the international audience at MIPJunior and MIPCOM. Additional details about the show can be found here.
COCKTAIL TIME
It wasn’t all work and no play at MIPCOM and our team had a blast at the Clifford the Red Dog cocktail hour, hosted on the beautiful large patio of our new booth.
