Based on the classic novel by Susan M. Coolidge, What Katy Did tells the story of Katy Carr, a headstrong and energetic thirteen year-old, growing up in the countryside at the turn of the century. With a feisty, rebellious streak, Katy is a real handful for her widowed father, Dr, Carr, and her stern Aunt Izzie who share the responsibility of raising Katy and her siblings. The arrival of her worldly, invalid cousin Helen, exposes Katy to a world she never knew existed. When tragedy befalls young Katy, she gains strength from Cousin Helen’s wisdom and appetite for life, and overcomes her own misfortune.
