Hello March and hello spring break! Your little’s favorite part of the school year is just around the corner and we’ve got some tips and tricks to help keep them entertained. Luna loves traveling the world and definitely encourages you to travel with your little ones, but she is also an advocate for a stay-cation! Below are a few ideas you can use no matter where you are in the world!
Scavenger Hunts
Whether indoor or outdoor, scavenger hunts are the perfect activity to get the kids up and moving. Depending on where you are in the world, you can take your scavenger hunt outdoors or keep them inside your home. They can be as simple as “find something round,” to as complicated as, “Soft and plump, I’ll be right here. Throughout your dreams, you’ll keep me near. I’ll keep you comfy all through the night, and you’ll leave me here in the morning light. *The answer is pillow!
Arts and Crafts
Nothing says memorable, like a fun arts and crafts activity. Perhaps it’s a painting that you take a couple days to complete? Or maybe it’s a collage or mosaic? There are so many arts and craft activities that you can find on the internet do with your little. Arts and crafts still stimulate their minds and creativity during this downtime from their studies.
Visit a local museum or art gallery
Most cities and towns have a local museum or art gallery of some sort. Take an afternoon and venture off with your kids. Museums offer a unique learning experience, your little’s are able to learn about history beyond their textbooks. Often times, museums have special activations for kids as an added bonus!
Bake
Mhmm chocolate chip cookies… Get the aprons, the rolling pins and the recipe book. Baking is a great activity you can do with your kids! They put in the hard work to bake the goodies and then can enjoy the fruits of their labor. Not only do they practice their metrics, measuring out different ingredients, but it’s also quality time with parents.
Go to the library
A trip to the public library is a fantastic and cost efficient excursion for your littles. Most public libraries have programming for the kids, check your local library for full schedules of spring break offerings. Not only are they learning but having fun too!
Movie Marathon
Pop the popcorn, grab the extra blankets and cuddle up in front of the tv. You don’t need to go to the movie theatres to have a great movie experience, you can enjoy it from the comfort of your own home! Maybe you’re indulging in the full Harry Potter Series or first, second and third Despicable Me, put on your pj’s and get comfy
