Titles acquired include Andy and the Band, Weird Waters and Bad Nature
Dublin, Ireland – February 8, 2021 – 9 Story Distribution International is pleased to announce that it has acquired three new children’s series for international distribution, leading up to this year’s Kidscreen Summit. Global distribution rights have been acquired for: Andy and the Band (15 x 14’), a live action, music-driven comedy from Three Arrows Media and Ninja Pig Productions; Weird Waters (60 x 7’), a CGI animated series from Wayletta Productions, Meticulous Media and Moondog Animation Studio; and Bad Nature (25 x 5’), an animated/live action hybrid from Rebel Television.
Andy and the Band
Produced by Ninja Pig Productions and Three Arrows Media, Andy and The Band is a hit live action series recommended for ages 4-8 that follows an aspirational, eclectic and super talented band known as “The Odd Socks.” 9 Story has acquired worldwide rights for the series, excluding the UK. The series is non-stop fun… combining laugh-out-loud comedy, insanely catchy songs and an overriding message that it’s good to be yourself! Will the band ever make it to their next gig…? They’ll have to help one of their fans first by saving the day in their own inimitable and quirky style. The Monkees paved the way, and Andy and the Band is the next generation of music-driven comedy for kids. The series is currently airing on CBBC and CBeebies in the UK.
Weird Waters
9 Story has also acquired worldwide distribution and merchandising rights for the CGI animated fantasy series Weird Waters, targeting kids ages 4-7. Produced by Wayletta Productions, Meticulous Media and Moondog Animation Studio, and represented by Courageous Artists, the series follows three Best Fish Friends Forever (BFFFs). Two tropical fish, BZ and I.M. Tiger, accidentally find themselves in the deep end of a magical pond. Along the way, the duo becomes friends with Jam who sweeps them away on a series of unbelievable adventures. Through hidden realms, crazy monsters and ancient mysteries these friends learn that growing up is the wildest ride of all.
Bad Nature
Through a unique hybrid of live action animals and state of the art CGI animation, Bad Nature answers all of the wonderfully weird questions about animals. The series, which is recommended for kids ages 6-11, follows Marv the Mandrill, Gloria the Puma and a madcap menagerie of misfits. Bad Nature delves into all the disgusting and yet amazing things animals do. Produced by Rebel Television for Sky Kids, the series shares the remarkable journey that brings viewers into the hideous world of Bad Nature. 9 Story acquired worldwide distribution rights, excluding the UK, from Bristol-based Rebel Television.
