Celebrating International Youth Day 2022 with Karma’s World!

Happy International Youth Day! Designated by the United Nations, this is a day meant to highlight the issues impacting youth today and celebrate the amazing things kids in the world are doing that make a difference.

This year’s objective is Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages. It’s a theme that asks us to reflect on ways we can build solidarity across all age groups and combat the stereotypes that say a person’s age limits the kinds of change they can make.

There’s no reason to believe kids can’t change the world. In fact, there are tons of amazing kids out there today who already are! Activists like Greta Thunberg and Mari Copeny are just some of the many youth activists in the world who have made big differences globally and in their communities.

As creators of kids content, we are inspired by children around the world who are making a difference, big or small. It’s a message we stand behind in our own shows as we work to highlight the different ways kids can make a change and stand up for what they believe in.

Whether they’re fighting for global justice, or simply helping a friend, it’s important that kids today know that they can make a difference. It’s even more important that adults support their dreams, and set a good example by making change themselves. Together, we can, and will, make a difference as we work together to build a better world for all.

To celebrate the power of youth, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite clips from Karma’s World that prove just how powerful kids can be. Watch below!

This clip comes from Season 2 of Karma’s World! When Chef Scott’s purple scones go viral, people from outside of the neighborhood come flooding in to visit. Unfortunately, these visitors start to make a mess of the neighborhood Karma and her friends call home.

In this song, Karma uses her voice to stand up for the neighborhood, encouraging new visitors to show more respect. A great example of how young people today can stand up and make a positive change in the places they call home.

In Karma’s World Season 2, Karma runs for president to make a positive change in her school! However, she finds herself getting lost in what everyone else wants, losing sight of the change she wanted to make.

In this clip, she explains how she’s going to turn things around. This song exemplifies how one person can make a difference, using their voice to inspire people around them to join in on making positive change!

In this clip, Karma and Switch start talking about how girls can do anything. Karma raps a few verses about this, creating a song about empowerment.

Karma’s mission is to make a difference with her music, and this song is a perfect example!
