MIPTV 2019 Recap

By April 24, 2019News

Our team is finally back from MIPTV! Despite news of the market’s declining attendance, 9 Story had quite a busy and eventful week so let’s recap what they were up to in Cannes.

BOOTH

Last year’s brand new booth, provided by the wonderfully hardworking Over and Above, continued to shine this year, making us perfectly at home and showcasing our programs beautifully once again. Our SVP Marketing and Communications Jennifer Ansley said of our stand providers, “they’ve truly been Over and Above, just like their name.”

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

On Tuesday, April 9th, our Dublin-based Senior VP Distribution & Acquisitions Alix Wiseman shared her insights alongside other industry leaders at the Kids Co-Production Breakfast. The session, designed for producers, distributors, and platforms to meet new and potential partners and learn more about international co-productions, allowed Alix to lead a discussion on her experience and expertise in the field.

DAVID WALLIAMS EVENT

With the help of Over and Above (pictured left), we were able to transform our 9 Story stand into a cozy oasis wherein Alix Wiseman led an intimate Q&A with bestselling author David Walliams. David read from and discussed his immensely popular children’s book series ‘The World’s Worst Children’ and talked on how 9 Story and King Bert Productions are bringing it to life on screen.

INTERNATIONAL KIDS EMMY AWARDS

Finally, our team stepped out dressed to the nines for the International Kids Emmy Awards at MIPTV. We joined our partners at Magic Mall Entertainment and Cloth Cat Animations who were nominated for Luo Bao Bei in the Kids: Preschool category.
